Introduction – What is the benefit of a program loop?

A program loop helps You to centrally manage content for Your guests and to display it automatically on various screens such as info screens or room TVs.

Function Overview

The following functions are available in the Program Loop module:

  • Create and manage program loops with different sequences

  • Individual design with modules such as YouTube, weather, daily menu, events, image galleries

  • Adaptation to screen formats (portrait or landscape)

  • Integration of music, background images, and custom content

  • Flexible control of duration, order, and visibility of individual content

  • GDPR-compliant and fully integrated into Guestnet

How to set up the Program Loop module

Create a new program loop

  • Navigate in the backend to Communication > TV

  • Click on “New Entry”

  • Assign an internal name, choose portrait or landscape format

  • Add sequences – each sequence can have a title, modules, and its own settings

  • Click Save

Add content to sequences

  1. Edit the desired sequence via the pencil icon.

  2. Select the segmentation of the page.

  3. After that, each section of the page can be configured.

For each sequence, You can choose the following content types:

  • YouTube video & directly saved video (with or without sound – but not at the same time as music)

  • Gallery or image

  • Webcam/livecam

  • Weather (3 display options)

  • Wellness & beauty

  • Daily menu and daily/weekly program with numerous layout options

  • Events from the region (slide, list, grid)

  • Sports & activities incl. ski lifts, cross-country trails, slopes

  • POIs / From the surroundings

  • Gastronomy

  • Lists of all ski lifts, ski slopes, and cross-country trails

  • Cross-country and ski area overview

  • Custom content with formatting options

  • Social Wall

Background music (MP3 upload) can also be added, if desired.

Use screen URL

  • Under TV > Manage screens You will find the URL of each screen

  • This URL is handed over to the technician or used for preview

FAQ about the module

Can I display multiple contents at the same time?

Yes, with the segmentation of a sequence into up to four tiles, multiple modules can be displayed in parallel.

How can I change the order of the contents?

Sequences can be rearranged via drag-and-drop. To do so, click on the grey boxes on the left.

What happens if no content is stored (e.g. no daily menu)?

In this case, the screen area remains empty or white.

Can I insert a background image or music?

Yes, both are possible. Background music (MP3) and background image can be uploaded separately and configured per sequence.

Do YouTube videos with sound work everywhere?

Not on all devices. Browsers sometimes block automatic video playback with sound.

Can I influence the display duration?

Yes, during the editing of a sequence, You can define the display duration.

Are there recommendations for screen resolution and image size?

Yes. For Full HD screens (1920x1080 px), images should have exactly this resolution.

What to do in case of “No Video” or display issues?

Often the cause is the device’s energy-saving mode or incorrect zoom settings. Also check screen resolution and screen size:

Why are entries shown multiple times during random playback?

When entries from the modules Gastronomy, Events, From the Surroundings, and Sports and Active are played back randomly, the content is updated approximately every 50 minutes. If your program loop is shorter than this interval, it is possible that some content will be played more than once.

Why does the webcam show an outdated live image?

The webcams in this module are updated every 30 minutes. Therefore, the image displayed is not in real time and may be up to 30 minutes old.
