How to set up the Protel Air integration

Here is an overview of the requirements for the integration:

  • API-Key: You can create the required Obem API key using this guide:
    Creating an Open API Key_Vendor Setup Guide (1).pdf

  • Cash register number and PLU ID for tips: These details are only required if payments and/or tipping are to be enabled via the interface.

    The cash register number can be created or viewed directly in Protel Air.


    After creating the item, you can use the corresponding PLU ID (item number) to correctly assign tips.


FAQ

Can guests view and enter data before arrival?

Yes, both login, invoice access, and pre-check-in are possible before arrival.

How do I set up tipping?

To activate the tipping function and allow amounts to be posted directly to the room bill, you need to create a dedicated item.
Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Master Data > Finance > Items

  2. Create a new item named Tip or similar

  3. Make sure the item is bookable and assigned to the correct service type

  4. Afterwards you open our Backend and go to Settings > Integrations > PMS and edit the connection. Enter the corresponding ID.

After setup, the tip will be automatically posted as a separate item on the room bill for digital orders.
