Overview
In the frontend, under Account → "Accessibility", you'll find an overview of all the measures we have taken to comply with legal requirements. In addition, you as customers are also responsible for ensuring that all content you add – texts and images – meets these requirements.
💡 Tip: With the browser add-on Lighthouse, you can check your current page for accessibility issues – e.g. insufficient contrast or missing alt texts for images.
Text Readability
Minimum font size: Text must be bigger than 12px. System texts that you cannot edit already comply with this requirement. Please make sure that in freely editable areas – e.g. in activity descriptions or the Morning Post – you do not use smaller font sizes.
Colored texts: When using custom colored texts (e.g. in the Morning Post), make sure the contrast is sufficient and the text remains clearly readable.
Text in images: If you upload images that already contain text, make sure that text is clearly readable against the image background.
Design Color in the Backend
The main color you set in the design area of the backend must be clearly readable in both Light Mode and Dark Mode – it must not be too light or too dark.
There is now a preview window where you can see how the color looks in each mode.
We have also added a lock for unsuitable colors, so that shades that are too light or too dark cannot be selected.
The design color is used for buttons, icons, and texts (e.g. "Highlight" in Treatments), among other things.
Alt Texts for Images
For every image, an alternative text (alt text) must be stored in the backend. This text is read aloud by screen readers and supports visitors with visual impairments.
How to do it: In the backend, below each image – underneath the "Source" field – you'll find a field called "Image Description". Enter the alt text there.
Important notes:
The alt text is not displayed visually – it is used exclusively by screen readers.
The text can be stored in one language per main language.
For images from external providers (e.g. destinations), the responsibility for alt texts lies with the respective provider. This is also noted on our accessibility page.
Special case – Menu (Allergens & Classification): In this area, custom images can be uploaded. Since only icons (not photos) should be uploaded here, there is no image description field – icons do not require an alt text.
Please upload only icons here.
Make sure there is a suitable icon for both light and dark backgrounds.
Icons must be clearly recognizable – this is especially important for allergens.
Sources for images are displayed in the legal notice – the presentation has been visually revised and is now easier to understand.
On detail pages (e.g. Activities), a copyright symbol appears in the lower left corner of the image. Clicking on it displays the source.
